What is cddriver.dll and why am I missing it?

I need to install a software on my PC, what is annoying is that: I come across the error message "The file cddriver.dll is missing." I've tried to download the cddriver.dll file by myself. It didn't work! One problem is I'm not sure if I have done the right thing to fix this error. Anyone can help me?
